Rhodochrosite takes its name from the Greek "rhodon" (rose) and "chrosis" (color), perfectly describing its pink to rose-red tones. In Argentine folklore, this stone is linked to the ancient Incas and carries the poetic nickname "Rosa del Inca." Legends traditionally speak of the stone forming in the blood of Inca warriors, giving it a romantic history. The finest specimens, featuring distinctive banded patterns, are sourced from Argentina's historic Capillitas mine.
